I got home tonight to find a packet from the Graduate School. Apparently I could march in Commencement in June. I really don't know, though -- I don't think I feel like shelling out the money to rent regalia, and it also would feel odd since I wouldn't really be graduating. The only compelling arguments I can find for going at all are perhaps hearing some of the speakers (such as Ben Bernanke) and some of the free meals for graduates (breakfast with the deans and a luncheon). However, I would be more inclined to participate in the Commencement ceremonies on that distant day when I get my PhD.

The other thing that makes it feel weird is the total amount of work for the AM -- while the past three semesters were certainly intense, the total amount of work I did over four years to earn my BA from Swarthmore was much greater.

Thoughts?
