Well, my Beaumarchais paper is finally drafted, at least. A good solid (i hope!) 14 pages. I'll have the morning to revise/talk with Jean-Vincent, hopefully, before finally submitting it in the afternoon.

There's a wild thunderstorm going on outside now. And it was so lovely this afternoon. I went running in the Crum, where I hadn't been in a while. Everything was lush and green. The place was just alive in a way that I can't describe. The Crum can be a very lovely and magical place, even if one has to be careful running there because of all the rocks and tree roots. I'm going to miss the Crum this summer...

And then there's the park on the other end, if you go out the trail towards Wallingford Road and cross it. I've been there just once, but I'd love to explore in there some more one day.

[livejournal.com profile] aridice left early this afternoon. With Jean having left last night, Woolman now feels so much more empty.

I'm now going to go and get that iBook G4 I've been hoping to get. My parents were surprisingly ok about it. It's the most expensive thing I've ever bought, but I think it'll be a good investment, especially when it comes time to write my senior thesis.

And earlier, while I was procrastinating on my French paper, I came across some neat stuff. (Once I get going at writing, I'll go at it for hours, but I wind up procrastinating before I get going). I ran into the Naval Academy web site and was looking at the course materials for the introductory seamanship and navigation class. They have all the PowerPoint slides for the course online. There were some really silly-looking, Microsoft Word clip-artesque cartoons of vessels colliding in all sorts of ways in the Rules of the Road lesson I looked at. One particularly amusing one was this cartoon of a drunken sailor at the helm of a boat that had hit a rock.

Math 49

So they put me in Hunter's section of Math 49. At least [livejournal.com profile] rose_garden and (if she takes it) [livejournal.com profile] msarcher are also going to be there.

I specifically requested not to be in Hunter's section. I'm very bitter. I've had Hunter for a semester, and now I'm going to launch into my harshest criticisms of him. His lectures are difficult or impossible to follow (antithesis of Shimamoto, basically), he's dreadfully disorganized and never returns papers. I would so much rather have Bergstrand (whom I know pretty well and am comfortable with) or Grood, who everyone says is good and who also seems nice.

Perhaps I should drop Math 49 for this semester; I wasn't going to take it next fall in my sophomore paper. I could take Music 11 instead and that would be fun. Erghh!
