Apr. 28th, 2005 12:52 amThings are almost through academically. Mostly finals left now, but I feel like this semester's will require a lot more studying than any of last semester's. Stat mech does not gel together for me yet, and we've done a lot of disparate stuff in quantum. I am hopeful that I'll be OK with representation theory for algebra though.
I really, really need to meet Walter Smith from Haverford sometime. I hope I indelibly impressed the meaning of the Kronecker delta on my Math 102 compatriots when I gave my own rendition of his Kronecker delta song. Seriously, if he gave concerts, I'd go. I actually wouldn't mind trying to get him to perform at Swat, were it not that my fellow physics majors would probably lynch me.
May Day is Sunday, and for that I'm very excited.
Friday night is the Bach B Minor Mass chorus concert. People should come. Hopefully John will pull his usual magic and the fast sections that still had some ka-ka tonight will sound alright.
Poll: Should I take Real Analysis with Shimmy or Social and Political Philosophy with Schuldenfrei next fall? Calling Don Shimamoto "Shimmy" appears to have started to catch on, along with "Chucky G" or "Grinny Baby" for Charles Grinstead. The rest of my schedule will be thesis, Physics 115, and Music 11/whatever the musicianship lab is.
