We were all a bit surprised last semester in my section of the Stat Mech seminar when one day, a spec wandered in not knowing what it was. I was giving my end-of-semester presentation on treating the plasma 2-stream instability both with kinetic theory and particle-in-cell simulation. He looked bewildered as I started to write equations on the board and left after 10 or 15 minutes.

Said spec is now a frosh and will be in my Music 11 class, assuming I decide to take it.
