Oct. 13th, 2005 01:07 am2 down (Cambridge Graduate Application and Gates Cambridge Scholarship), one more to go (Churchill).
( Stressful afternoon )
Anyway, after all this franticness (thanks to Carolyn for helping with FedEx, Doc for finishing up his stuff for Gates on short notice) I was so stressed out that I was ready to keel over. If ever I wanted something alcoholic, it would have been then, and this is coming from someone who hardly ever drinks and who has never drunk for the purpose of trying to unwind. But right then I would not have refused a decent beer or a shot of Scotch. Luckily I ran into
gerbilicious85, who suggested that I come with her to Aikido. I had taken two semesters of aikido frosh/soph year, but hadn't done it since then. I'm really glad I went; I had forgotten how much good the stretching and focused relaxing that aikido is about can do.
After that, feeling much better, I headed back to ML. I spent the evening reading for 115... Frank's assigned 80 pages (1st two chapters) of Loudon for Monday, which is really quite a lot for a physics seminar. Oh well. And I have a presentation, too, which will be my 3rd, when most people still haven't done 2.
They really want me to pretty much completely rework my Churchill personal statement (too long and detailed at this point), so I'll do that tomorrow. Thesis and GRE studying really have to happen as well.
