Oct. 19th, 2005 07:16 pmOne of the frustrations of advanced math: struggling to prove that which would seem obvious. Not so much a problem in algebra last year (I freely admit that I still have pretty much no intuition regarding things like extension fields or Galois groups). But in geometry, when you struggle with rigorously proving stuff in Euclidean or neutral geometry (Euclidean geometry w/o a parallel postulate), it's pretty darned frustrating. Like how I spent over 2 hours trying to rigorously prove that every point on a segment joining two sides of a triangle lies in the interior of the triangle.
