Dec. 26th, 2005 01:14 pmA belated Merry Christmas to everyone out there who's celebrating it...
Looking up stuff about Wisconsin. So, there's this plasma MHD code called NIMROD (at least in plasma, they seem to insist on trying to come up with catchy acroynms for things). There's a graduate student at Wisconsin who's interested in simulating us (SSX) as well as the MRX experiment at Princeton. Not being as on top of what's up in the field of plasma simulations as I perhaps ought to be, I only now found out what NIMROD stands for: Non-Ideal MHD with Rotation Open Discussion Project.
Also, in another random fact, there apparently are contra dances at Wisconsin every Tuesday and Saturday night. The web page for the contra group is hosted on the Wisconsin physics server by an experimental plasma prof there.
