Laptop battery
Jan. 12th, 2006 11:47 pmFor those of you out there with Mac laptops, there's a nifty and useful application called coconutBattery. It's a freeware laptop battery monitor that lets you track both the charge and the capacity of your laptop battery. I first saw this in one of the copies of Macworld outside John Boccio's office.
There's a history feature that lets you save your battery capacity in a log. What is disturbing is that mine seems to have gone from 82% to 72% in a week (as in the battery can store 72% of the charge it could when it was brand new). The cold temperatures in my house might have something to do with it. How else might one prolong the life of the battery?
