I'm leaving tomorrow afternoon immediately after Psych 1 to go to Annapolis. A couple of things come to mind...

1. First of all, for those of you who've taken Amtrak trains from 30th St, what does one do upon arrival, with regards to check-in and the like? I will be traveling with a suitcase, a backpack (to carry homework) and a laptop. I already have my paper tickets.

2. How should one pack a suit/dress shirt to minimize wrinkling? Obviously it should be unpacked and hung up as soon as possible upon arrival, but what else?

3. I seldom wear shirts that require pressing -- and moreover, most of the dress shirts I've owned are cotton/polyester and haven't really needed to be pressed. The dress shirt I bought with my new suit, however, is 100% cotton, and I was warned that it while it looked really sharp, it would wrinkle easily and would not be easy to iron. I could attempt to iron the shirt myself in my hotel room, but ironing isn't something I'm used to doing at all. I tried calling Swarthmore Laundry and no one picked up the phone; I'm not sure how quickly they could get my shirt back to me even if I took it there this afternoon.

I just got out of choir a few minutes ago.

It's funny... almost every note of the Brahms is coming back to me from four years ago. I find myself nailing the syncopated and/or chromatic passages that drove pretty much everyone, including myself, mad back in high school. But I'm getting more of a chance to think about expression and the text than I did then. It's different to sing it again at Swat, with a group of people whose overall musicianship level is higher than that of my high school choir, and with my own musical skills having grown a lot in the past four years.

ML and then Solid State beckon. The hotel has internet access, so I will be bringing my laptop. Heaven only knows the kind of wacky questions they might end up throwing at me... tonight and tomorrow I'll spend some more time prepping, and then I think I'll have done as much as anyone could be expected to do.
