One of the UChoir secretaries emailed me over the weekend, asking if I could sub this morning at Morning Prayers for one of the Choral Fellow basses, who is unfortunately lying seriously ill in the University Health Services infirmary. I have subbed at Morning Prayers a number of times now, and while the music is often good, it does mean having to drag myself out of bed around 7:15. This morning, I turned up to find that the anthem was to be the Mozart "Alleluia" round that I have been itching to do for a long time, at an appropriate Advanced Roundsing (or perhaps Experimental Roundsing for doing new rounds and canons that aren't currently in SWIL's (er) canon). It ended up sounding quite lovely, and it was definitely worth getting up early for.
