I had a book out from the library at the Center for Astrophysics that got recalled, due Wednesday. I was sure to return it at the Physics library before I left, on Monday morning. However, when I went up there, the librarian was busy helping someone, so I left that book (and another one from Cabot Library) on the desk, as is the typical procedure.
The book from Cabot got checked into the system fine. But not the one from the CfA library, which by now has racked up a hefty fine for being overdue when recalled. I'm going to have to call once the librarians get back from lunch and see what's going on.
