I saw this in the local paper this morning; under current regulations, I believe this qualifies as a LODD:

Devoted firefighter passes suddenly

I knew his daughter, also a member of the local fire company, in high school. I don't think we ever had any classes together, but there was a year when I often lunched with the marching band people she hung out with.
