Last night someone posted to the UChoir email list a touching article about the violinist Joshua Bell playing anonymously during rush hour in a Washington, DC metro station. I don't generally do this sort of thing, but I'll post the link here as I found it very worth reading:

I happened read this article after coming from subbing Morning Prayers, where this morning's preacher, a graduate student, spoke about the importance of being good to oneself, through savoring the world around one, and particularly through serving others.

She interprets the situation differently from the Washington Post reporters... I thought you might find it interesting.
