So 2 critical things in the lab decided to quit on us today. The argon laser is on its last legs and can't be run for more than a few minutes without major power loss. It probably needs a new tube, which means sending the laser back to the manufacturer, which would take several weeks and be expensive.

And now the computer isn't talking to the Langmuir probe instrumentation via the GPIB board. Lovely. More on this later.
