I never thought I'd hear an anti-Catholic tirade in Morning Prayers. The speaker this morning was rather incensed about Benedict XVI's recent decision to reinstate several excommunicated bishops, including one who has denied the Holocaust. I'm not sure I agree with the decision myself, but even as someone who is ambivalent about being Catholic and is strongly pro-Israel, comparing Benedict XVI to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and calling for the US to immediately break off diplomatic relations with the Vatican seems a bit much.
