Jan. 29th, 2009 07:32 pmI returned from the ski trip late Tuesday night. It was frigid up at Sugarloaf; I think it was around -10 degrees Fahrenheit at the top of most of the lifts, and two of the three days we were there they closed the lift to the summit due to high winds and temperatures around -18 F. But it was a great trip. I got to hang out with some of my grad school friends, make some new ones, and improve significantly as a skier. It was very gratifying to comfortably ski intermediate runs on the last day that had prompted multiple wipeouts on the first. I even managed to do black diamond runs twice, once surviving a wrong turn occasioned by unclear signage, and the second time actually enjoying one intentionally with my G3 classmates.
Our UChoir spring concert, Handel's oratorio Saul, is going to be on Sunday, April 26. Unfortunately that happens to be the weekend of NEFFA, and the dress rehearsal will preclude my going there on Saturday. So I may not be able to make it to NEFFA at all this year, or if I go it will probably only be for the Friday session.
