The email from Elizabeth Macdonald about the ML breakfast noted that they will be going Continental TTh, to cut costs.

What with the loss of Greek and falafel bars, this is almost too much. One reason I wanted to be in ML was because of the ML breakfast.

It's not that I eat eggs and pancakes for breakfast all that often. It's more the principle and why the College is trying to cut costs on dining, and consequently skimping on the food.

If we, as a College community, came to a consensus about something, like "if we want a living wage or tuition not to go up more, we need to reduce the dining budget by such and such an amount," and this had some community discussion, I would not be upset. Rather, I'm upset that all these changes are essentially being forced down our throats.

Just like Appetizer Bar for dinner tonight. Blechh.

Is the motivation for cutting costs definitely living-wage related?

I haven't seen anything confirming that, but I don't know if anything else could explain why they need to all of a sudden make major budget cuts from Dining Services. But like I said in the other comment on here, a bunch of us should really E-mail Linda McDougall directly to complain and to find out an explanation.

Wow... OK, I think we should start E-mailing Linda McDougall directly about this, instead of just E-mailing the food suggestion box, since this DOES seem to be a major policy thing that was never publically agreed to and announced. (I had been thinking about doing that, and this was actually what Joyce in Tarble suggested when I complained to her about Greek bar being cut, although she said that we definitely shouldn't say she suggested it.) And if Linda McDougall doesn't respond...I think it's worth talking to the Deans about it.
