... because I had nothing better to do after I got my math homework done at 3:30 am, and because

Seriously, I think of myself as more economically conservative than the survey would indicate. For instance, I generally feel that excessive deficit spending, while capable of spurring economic growth, could lead to inflation, and so I have serious issues with the current administration's fiscal policies. Similarly, I also disagree with programs like agricultural subsidies that are artificially supporting industries in which the US does not have the comparative advantage (and yes the EU is just as guilty of this).
When will this cycle of chronic sleep deprivation end?

Date: 2005-09-21 12:05 pm (UTC)"Economically conservative" is a bit of a confusing term in itself, especially since this quiz uses "economically permissive" as the label on one of the axes. Not everyone would equate "permissive" with "conservative". "Economically liberal" is an even more problematic label-- do you mean "liberal" as in "let's allow for greater economic freedom", or "liberal" as in, "let's create generous spending programs!"
Farm subsidies... *shudder* There is a particular country in the EU which I shall not *coughfrancecough* name that is very guilty of this...
